Name Change:
The town of Kasia Bazar was officially renamed Kushinagar. It is a Buddhist pilgrimage site known for being the place where Gautam Buddha achieved Mahaparinirvana, which is his final departure from the earthly life.
Geographical Location:
Kushinagar is situated on National Highway 28, approximately 50 kilometers east of Gorakhpur. It is located in the northeastern marginal area of Uttar Pradesh, and it marks the boundary between Uttar Pradesh and Bihar, with Bihar starting about 20 kilometers east of Kushinagar.
Buddhist Temples:
Kushinagar is home to several beautiful Buddhist temples, making it a popular international tourist destination. Buddhists from around the world visit this town for pilgrimage and exploration.
